Ms. Hunter is a distinguished attorney who has represented emerging growth companies for over 30 years, ranging from start-up venture-backed companies to mature public companies. She advises companies on issues arising throughout their life cycle, including initial through late-stage financing, corporate governance, licensing and strategic collaborations and exit strategies. Ms. Hunter is the interim legal counsel for Riva Therapeutics and is currently on the Board of Trustees for Research to Prevent Blindness and the Board of Visitors of the USD School of Law.  She was an Adjunct Professor at USD School of Law for three years where she taught an experiential transactional advocacy practicum.  She has previously served on numerous charitable and business-related boards, including San Diego Public Library Foundation, City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture, Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, Athena and San Diego Venture Group. Ms. Hunter also served as the Editor-in-Chief of the San Diego Law Review and was the operations manager for Copley News Service, the international news service for The Copley Press, and in retail advertising sales and circulation for a weekly newspaper.  She was vice president for Dow Theory Letters, an international financial newsletter and web service for nearly 30 years.

Ms. Hunter received her undergraduate degree with distinction from Stanford University and her J.D. (magna cum laude) from the University of San Diego School of Law.
