Dr. Operaña brings over 14 years of biotech experience in oncology and molecular diagnostics. She is the Director of Program Management and Strategic Operations at Riva Therapeutics. Previously, she was the Director of Global Medical Affairs – Head of Publications at Turning Point Therapeutics and Associate Director of Scientific Communications at Rakuten Medical where she was the global lead for publications, scientific platform development, and conference planning. She was also a Senior Manager of Medical Information at Intercept Pharmaceuticals. Prior to that, she was a Medical Affairs Scientist/Medical Science Liaison at Biotheranostics where she was the co-lead of the biomarker development and launch team for tumor-specific biomarker panels to enable precision medicine.
Dr. Operaña received a B.S. in Pharmacological Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of California, San Diego, and postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School at the Joslin Diabetes Center.
